Your audio.
On your device.

Privacy policy for Decibel Meter: Volume Guide and this website.

Last updated: September 15, 2026 · Current development version

The current app processes microphone input on your device. It does not save audio recordings, recognize speech, or upload sound measurements.

1. Microphone input and sound checks

When you enable monitoring and grant permission, the app uses microphone input and your device’s output volume to provide approximate listening guidance. Audio buffers are processed in memory. No audio files are saved, and the app does not transmit microphone input to a server.

The microphone session may stay active while monitoring is enabled, including between short analysis windows, to support background operation. You can stop capture by tapping “Stop Monitoring” or revoking microphone access in iOS settings.

2. Information stored on your device

The app saves whether you completed the introduction and whether monitoring is enabled. The current sound-check results and guidance are held in session memory. The current development version does not save a listening-history database; the history screen contains sample data.

The app does not offer an account or cloud synchronization. Standard device backups may include app preferences according to your Apple settings.

3. Permissions

Microphone permission enables sound checks. The app also requests notification permission in preparation for planned warnings. Spoken warnings and automatic warning delivery are not implemented in the current development version. You can change these permissions in iOS settings.

4. Advertising, tracking, and third-party services

The current app includes no advertising SDK, analytics SDK, speech-recognition service, or app-operated cloud backend. It does not collect your location, contacts, or advertising identifier.

5. When you contact support

If you email , your email address, message, and any attachments are shared with the support team through Gmail. This is separate from the app’s on-device sound processing. Please include only information needed to explain your question. You can contact the same address to request deletion of your support correspondence, subject to any applicable recordkeeping obligations.

6. This website

This website does not request microphone access, create a user account, use advertising trackers, or store preferences in your browser. It uses no third-party fonts or embedded media.

When hosted on Cloudflare Pages, Cloudflare processes technical request information, such as IP addresses and browser information, to deliver and secure the website. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy for its handling of that information. Email links open your own email application; there is no contact form on this site.

7. Your controls

You can stop monitoring in the app and revoke microphone or notification permissions in iOS settings. Deleting the app removes its local app data from the device; backups are managed separately through your Apple settings.

8. Changes to this policy

This policy describes the current development version. If future features change how information is handled, the policy will be updated here with a new revision date.
